GreenPower Motor Company manufactures a complete range of heavy- and medium-duty electric vehicles, which include models with lower and high floors.  green power  & Chassis is their flagship model, and it can be customized to meet a variety of applications. The platform's clean sheet design approach allows the best battery pack placement and lower center of gravity, which results in higher payload to range ratios.

The EV Star REEFERX is designed to serve mid to last mile refrigerated delivery and catering. The refrigerated truck's class 4 configuration's one interior wall structure and higher insulation levels compared to traditional trucks enable seamless sanitation, better temperature control, and a longer life. The EV Star REEFERX provides superior capacity for cargo and a payload that is industry-leading to allow for zero emission freight or passenger transport.

GreenPower has partnered with Perrone Robotics in order to equip the EV Star with TONY (To navigate you) autonomous vehicle systems, which will allow fleets to make the transition to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star is also capable of wireless charging up to 75 kW.

We had the chance to test drive the EV9 for several hours on a local highway and found it to be easy to drive and comfortable for long distances. The EV9 can be used to block road noise and wind while on the highway. It glides effortlessly over ruts and humps. The acceleration is extremely fast and the car has adjustable regenerative braking to enable "one pedal driving" by simply lifting off of the accelerator.

The EV9 provides a large range and can be recharged in three hours or less at home, or using any commercial charger. Drivers have the option of choosing between two modes of operation: eco mode and sports mode. Eco mode focuses on the torque and cruise control, while the sport mode is designed to maximize speed and handling. Both modes are fun to drive and provide a unique experience for those who've never been in a vehicle with an electrical system before.

GreenPower provides a variety of other EVs, including a multipurpose all-electric minibus dubbed the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and can be used as an executive shuttle, transit or micro-transit vanpool, bus, or a paratransit vehicle.

GreenPower produces approximately 10 EV Star busses a month for Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their fleet of diesel vehicles with 100 electric cars. GreenPower will increase production to meet the needs of the Biden Administration who is planning to electrify all school buses in America. Their EV Star bus is the first of its kind to be Altoona-tested and FMVSS-certified, Buy America compliant and ADA conforming. This means they'll be eligible for federal transit assistance grants. We will be following the AV Star as it begins its demonstration tour the coming months. We'll be sure to provide more information on this amazing electric vehicle!
